Cherry Berry Bomb Smoothie

 {vegan, Paleo friendly, grain free, dairy free}

Smoothies are a serious morning ritual around my house.

We drink them daily (sometimes twice a day)! I love them as part of our diet because I know my beloved little crew is heading off into their day with a strong dose of nutrient dense plants in their bellies to fuel their day. I can't tell you the hundreds of different flavor combinations I've turned into smoothies, some with great success and others...not so much. This is recipe is one of my victories with the blender.

This smoothie is for those days where your sweet tooth is in the driver's seat. It tastes like a sweet treat, yet is full of delicious fruits that will give your body the nutritional jump start that it needs before you hit the ground running.  

Makes 2 servings

1 ripe banana

2-3 dates, pitted

2 cups unsweetened almond milk+ extra to reach desired consitency

1/2 an avocado, pitted 

1 cup cherries (fresh or frozen), pitted

1 1/2 cups frozen strawberrie, stemmed

2 teaspoons chia seeds

fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

1. Put banana, dates, and almond milk in the blender. Run for 15-30 seconds or until dates are well chopped.

2. Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and run until mixture is smooth in consitency.

3. Pour the smoothie into two medium glasses and garnish with a fresh strawberry on each glass if desired. Enjoy immediately.
