Healthy & Easy Dinners For The Busy Family
Gosh, the world moves fast.
I'm busy. You're busy. Our spouses are busy. Even the kids' schedules have them hustling and bustling. It is no wonder that we are a society that has so heavily turned to processed foods to help keep us fed and going from one scheduled event to another.
No wonder...but still not the best option, in my book.
Look, I totally get that life moves fast and sometimes you just have to hang on for the wild ride and do the best you can. But I also think that with a little foresight and planning, making a healthy and easy dinner for your family can be just as simple as hitting the drive-thru on the way home.
Foresight, planning, and a few tired-and-true recipes in your back pocket.
I may be a healthy living blogger who loves cooking, but I truly don't have time to make a fancy dinner that keeps me in the kitchen for an hour or two every night. Nope. No way.
So, along my healthy living journey, I've found a few really healthy, really easy dinners that appear time and time again on our dinner table.
Dinner made on one baking sheet makes for less prep, quicker cooking and a faster clean-up time! The seasoning on this dish is very family-friendly and classic. Ready in about 30 minutes, this meal is perfect for throwing in the oven while you help your kiddo with homework or catch up on the days events with your spouse.
My slow cooker is my favorite kitchen wingman. There is nothing better than coming home to a beautifully cooked dinner after a long a busy day. These tacos will make a lentil lover out of the biggest meat eater and they are a great way for helping make that grocery budget stretch.
This dish reminds me of over-sized chicken nuggets....just much much much healthier, tastier and with a little special something with the addition of salad and avocado. Serve with a salad or your favorite roasted veggies, dinner will be on the table in a little over a half hour.
Enjoy these oh-so delicious and easy black beans over rice, quinoa or even soup style! This recipe makes a nice big batch, so you will have plenty of beans to enjoy for leftovers, lunches the next day or even freezer for emergency dinners on those extra crazy days
Hmmmm, have I mentioned to you guys that I love my slow cooker? It seriously makes real food in real life possible and this complete meal is one of my all-time favorite slow cooker recipes. The almond butter gives the beef stew a wonderful nutty flavor, thickens it up and adds a kick of healthy fat.
This is a meal that comes together with little effort, time or dirty dishes (win!). Tender, flavorful brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes paired with hearty sausage makes this all-in-one recipe a dish that is sure to be a frequent flyer on your dinner table.
A healthy dinner can be as easy as throwing one baking sheet into the oven...and walking away until its done. Less mess. Less fuss. More time to enjoy life....in a healthful and tasty way.
With the lovely tang of lemon combined with the earthiness of thyme, this chicken is sure to win the hearts of your family....especially yours, since all you have to do to get it ready is pop it in the slow cooker.
